Acute
Phase
This is the recovery phase post-injury or post-operative if you had surgery after getting hurt. Our physical therapists will work with you to help your body heal effectively and efficiently.
Getting hurt on the job is never fun and can seriously affect your everyday life. An injury that prevents you from working is painful, stressful, and overwhelming. Getting back to your job is important for you, your family, and your employer. High Desert Therapists can help.
Our experienced, trained, and compassionate physical therapists work closely with you to provide a safe and effective recovery while giving you the resources to avoid reinjury.
Request AppointmentWhile some employers may request work injury physical therapy in order to fulfill workers’ compensation claims, sometimes it is the injured worker who searches out services.
Rehab after an injury on a job site can range from aid in improving mobility to pain management to skills analysis. The most important thing to remember after a work injury is that recovery takes time.
Being hurt on the job can affect you physically and mentally. While physical therapy can help to speed up recovery and restore strength, flexibility, and functional ability, you may need to work with a psychologist to assess mental limitations with returning to work. In addition, occupational therapy might help you with day-to-day tasks, which we can refer you to.
We can help you return to work stronger and less likely to get hurt again. Our clinics all feature the necessary equipment required for recovery and are fully staffed to get you back to full physical capabilities. Depending on your line of work, we can mimic real-life job scenarios with personalized physical therapy treatment plans and ergonomic education to help you work safer.
Getting hurt on the job can take many different forms. From sprains, strains, and ligament tears to lacerations and broken bones, work injuries all look different and must be handled on a patient-to-patient basis.
For example, you might require different hand therapy techniques if you suffer from tendonitis or carpal tunnel syndrome. Or perhaps you tore a ligament while lifting a pallet and will need to work on healing and then building muscle to protect the ligament from re-injury.
We provide evidence-based treatment programs that help you to achieve your ultimate goals.
Depending on the circumstances, we can work with whoever is involved with your work-related injury. Sometimes that is your insurance provider in order to approve workers’ compensation, case managers at your job handling your situation, your doctor who provided services, and more.
Once you’ve gone through physical therapy services, we can provide you and your employer with a Functional Capacity Evaluation (FCE), if required. An FCE is a comprehensive performance-based evaluation consisting of a variety of tests to determine work readiness. Depending on the industry, the standardized test will determine functional ability.
Referrals are required by insurance carriers, however, please contact us to discuss treatment options and prices if you do not have insurance.
